The latest ISFSI webinar, held on 11 March 2025, was a resounding success, attracting hundreds of participants from around the world. The session, led by our current President, paid tribute to Professor Giuseppe Scapigliati, founding member and first President of the Society, in recognition of his influential contributions to the field of fish immunology.
In his lecture, Prof. Scapigliati reflected on key milestones from his distinguished career, highlighting his pioneering research using the European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) as a model to characterize essential immune cells, pathways, and mechanisms. His presentation elegantly bridged fundamental immunological discoveries with modern applications, culminating in the integration of cutting-edge omics technologies in fish immune research.
